Latest Visit by the Delegation of the Minisitry of Defence of Kazakhstan to London 18-28 September 2016

A senior delegation of Kazakhstan MoD finance managers responsible for budgeting and finance planning for the national armed forces participated in a workshop on best practice in annual reporting and cost management in London. They attended presentations by UK Defence Forum, PWC, Alvarez & Marshal LLP, Tiffins Consultancy and other companies.
The delegation was particularly interested in risk management in procurement, cost control and military hardware insurance. As part of the workshop programme the Kazakhstan delegation analysed the latest UK MoD annual report

Kiruna Mine in Swedish Arctic: Innovation Technologies and High Productivity

A delegation of senior technical managers form a number of Russian and Kazakhstan mining companies and Kunaev Mining Institute of Kazakhstan visited Kiruna Mine, the largest and most technologically advanced iron ore mine in Europe, on 3-8 September 2016. The delegation went down 1350 m into the mine owned by the Swedish company Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara AB during the visit organised by Transeuropean Centre Ltd with the assistance of the leading mining consultants Golder Associates as part of a seminar on Cave Mining. Senior representative of the following companies made presentations at the seminar: LKAB, SRK Consulting, Atlas Copco and ABB.
The seminar was attended by senior managers of the following companies: Donskoi Mine – branch of Kazchrome, Eurochem, Kovdorski Mine, TOMS-project, Eurasian Group, Kunaev Mining Institute of Kazakhstan, Kola Mining Company, Norilsk Nickel Mining Co.

New Technologies and Equipment for Drilling Optimisation and Acceleration

Senior representatives of Tatburneft, Tatoilgas, Gaspromneft R&D Centre and other Russian oil and service companies attended the technical workshop on New Technologies and Equipment for Drilling Optimisation and Acceleration on 16-18 May 2016 held in Milan and Pozitano, Italy.

The Russian drilling engineers visited the factory of DRILLMEC, part of TREVI Group who is a leading manufacturer of drilling equipment. They could familiarise themselves with new rigs for horizontal and angular drilling and view some of the products produced at this one of the oldest factories in Norhtern Italy established in 1928.

Bio-resources trade in Norway. Fish exchanges, e-trading and auctions


Transeuropean centre Limited in conjunction with Sberbank AST trading floor held an industry event on Norwegian expertise in trading of fish and other bio-resources in Bergen, Norway on 3-6 April 2916. A Russian interest in the issue is underpinned by the recent agreement on establishing a fish exchange in Russia signed by Sberbank Chairman German Gref and Sakhalin Region governor Oleg Kozhemyako.

Bergen in Norway was the logical choice for the event as it is Norway’s fishing and fish processing centre and location of Fish Pool trading in salmon futures, Nordes Sildesalgslag and a cluster of fish processing companies.

The event feature a round table at Nordes Sildesalgslag, visits to the Fish Pool, INKA AS processing factory and a typical fish farm in a Norwegian fjord. The event was attended by senior representatives of Sberbank, Sberbank AST, Sakhalin Regional Fishing Industry Association and a number of Russian fishing fleets.

Visits to the Ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp on 14-19 March 2016

A Russian and Ukrainian delegation visited two largest European commercial ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp in March 2016 to gain knowledge on port infrastructure development and management, technologies, equipment and materials used for construction of oil terminals and storage facilities. Among the delegation we senior managers of Novorossiysk Sea Oil Terminal by Caspian Pipeline Consortium, representatives of Ukrainian Ministry for Infrastructure and Ukrainian national Port Authority. The delegation was warmly received in both ports and was given the opportunity to view the port territory, some of its jetties and oil terminals from the board of Captain’s yacht in Rotterdam.

Kazakhmys Corporation Delegation at a Mining Seminar in Germany

Hambach Colliery owned and operated by RWE energy corporation is one of the highly efficient and largest open-cast lignite coal mines in European producing 40 million tonnes a year. A number of innovation technology solutions have been implemented there including cost-saving water management, conveyers designed by RWE own researchers with reinforced belt (total length of 130 km), remotely operated bucket wheel excavators e t.c.

The delegation of Kazakhmys Corporation headed by Raketa Salykova visited Hambach mine as part of a seminar organised by Transeuropean Centre Ltd in Hannover and Cologne. The seminar was aimed at gaining knowledge on the expertise by German mining companies in planning and implementing large-scale CAPEX development projects. The seminar also featured presentations by PwC, Golder Associates and Mayer Brown International LLP.

Transneft Delegation visits Houston Technology Centre of Pipeline Research Council International in February 2016

A senior delegation by Transneft company and “Transneft R&D” visited Houston Technology Centre of Pipeline Research Council International in February 2016 and participated in 28-й forum on Pipeline Pigging & Integrity Management (PPIM) in Houston, USA.
Among members of the delegation were Pavel Revel-Muroz, Vice president Transneft, Dr Yuri Lisin, Director General “Transneft R&D”, Sergei Ermish, CEO “Transneft-Diascan” and others. The delegation visited PRCI pipe testing facility and looked at technology solutions in pipeline diagnostics, testing and operation by Transpetro, Gulf Interstate Engineering Company, Petrobras, Stress Engineering Services, Inside, Transpetro, DNV-GL and others. MR Lisin invited his US colleagues to visit Transneft R&D centre and “Transneft-Diascan” testing facility in Russia
